If this is your first time opening the template, start with these steps before diving into anything else:

  • Before you get started, this guide will help you understand how to make the template feel more like yours without overcomplicating the process.

    It covers what to focus on first, how to approach design decisions, and how to make changes more efficiently ☺︎

  • Before diving into editing your site, take a moment to look through your Website Launch Checklist. It will give you a clear order of what things you’ll need to do before sending your website live, so you’re not jumping around or second-guessing what comes next.

    Don’t stress about checking everything off the list at once, you’ve got lots of time to edit your site. I recommend starting with your homepage to get comfortable with editing and making changes and then tackle the rest of your pages after.

  • The fastest way to start making your site feel more like yours is to apply your own fonts and color palette. These can be updated inside your Site Stylessection, and once you’ve made changes there, they’ll automatically update across your whole website.

    I’ve also included a Style Guide for you to use so you can easily visualize any adjustments you make to your fonts and colors!

  • Before you add in your images or make layout adjustments, I always recommend getting your website copy (i.e. the words on your website) written first. This will make it easier for you to decide what images should go where and if you’ll need to make changes to any design elements. 

    I’ve created a guide to help walk you through writing your website copy. You can write it from scratch, use the included AI prompts, or a mix of both. I’ve also included how you can get your text to follow the exact layout of your template.

  • Imagery is one of the most impactful parts of your website and will make a huge impact in the overall look and feel of your site.

    All the images used in your template are free for you to keep and use. I’ve also written a guide on where you can source Free and Affordable images for your website!

  • You’ll have a 6 month trail period to edit your website Squarespace so there’s no rush to get a subscription until you’re ready to launch. Once you’re ready to go live, you’ll need an active Squarespace 7.1 subscription.

    The following guides will walk you through choose a subscription and publishing your site:

  • Yes! Any included images and copy can be used as-is, mixed and matched or replaced entirely with your own. Everything in your template is there to help you launch faster and better visualize how your site should flow.

  • You can click directly on any text or image while you’re in edit mode on any page. From there you can add in your own text or upload new images.

  • You can change your fonts and color palette in the those changes in the Site Styles section of Squarespace. Your template also includes a built-in Style Guide that allows you to easily update fonts, colors, and button styles in one place!
